About the Role

As an Automotive Technician, you will perform skilled tasks in the maintenance, repair, and inspection of City-owned vehicles and mechanical equipment. This includes diagnosing issues, completing repairs, and ensuring all equipment is safe and operational to support municipal services.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Repair and maintain a variety of City-owned vehicles and equipment (e.g., trucks, loaders, tractors, sweepers, firefighting vehicles, ice resurfacers, park maintenance equipment).
• Diagnose issues, perform road tests, and conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Install, remove, repair, and maintain vehicle attachments (e.g., snow plows, sanders, ice resurfacers, snow blowers, sweepers).
• Perform mechanical tasks such as modifying water valves, repairing tools, welding, and fabricating components.
