Key Competencies Required to be Successful as an Accountant - Daily maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledger for Liability, Equity, and Asset accounts to ensure accuracy and validity of accounting transactions.
- Consolidates and prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements for multiple R.S. Hughes divisions.
- Daily review of subsidiary ledger accounts.
- Executes month-end close process by following internal procedures and protocols; including but not limited to settling suspension and clearing accounts.
- Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts.
- Documents, creates, and posts journal entries.
- Manages accruals to accurately reflect obligations monthly.
- Performs regular internal audits to support financial accuracy, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
