Mandate

The Senior Laboratory Instructor (SLI) in the Department of Biology is responsible for the design, coordination, and supervision of undergraduate teaching laboratories, ensuring students gain hands-on experience in both foundational and advanced biological techniques. The role also provides instructional leadership, logistical oversight, and mentorship within the lab teaching team. This position requires a background in plant sciences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lab exercises and materials for first- to fourth-year undergraduate biology courses.
• Support and supervise teaching assistant lab instructors, Scientific Assistants, and work study students.
• Manage large, multi-section labs in areas such as biodiversity, physiology, and cell biology, among others.
