Position Details
Responsibilities
- Evaluate teachers and support staff.
- Evaluate teaching methods and quality of instructions.
- Oversee the activities of teachers and support staff.
- Recruit and hire teachers and other staff.
- Direct or supervise the recruitment, training, evaluation and promotion of teachers.
- Co‑ordinate teaching activities.
- Organize and maintain procedures for the keeping of records.
- Review programs to ensure conformance to school board or provincial standards.
- Supervision of more than 20 people.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree.
- Education/teaching of individuals in elementary special education programs.
- Provincial teacher’s certificate.
- Work experience with special needs students: Children with an intellectual disability.
- Area of specialization: School principal.
