Responsibilities

• Protected nursing practice in all aspects of the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care
• Provide professional, patient-centred care to ensure patient safety and well-being
• Deliver care in a compassionate and culturally diverse environment
• Practice according to infection control and prevention measures
• Respond to emergency situations by recognizing changes in patient status and consult appropriately using transfer of accountability principles
• Provide health teaching to patients and families including discharge instructions to ensure continuity of care in the community
