OVERVIEW
The Regional Cardiac Care Coordinator is responsible for coordinating timely access to cardiac services across the continuum of care. The role supports referral triage, booking, wait list management, patient assessment, education, data reporting, and system coordination for patients requiring cardiac catheterization, PCI, cardiac surgery, arrhythmia, and structural heart services.
Working collaboratively with physicians, nursing, allied health, administrative staff, referring hospitals, and provincial partners, the Regional Cardiac Care Coordinator supports safe, equitable, and efficient patient access to cardiac care. The role also contributes to quality improvement, policy and procedure development, accreditation readiness, and alignment with best practice and provincial standards.
