Position Overview

The University of Lapland invites applications for a Professor of Visual Arts at the Faculty of Art and Design. The position is permanent and will start on 1 January 2027. The Faculty of Art and Design is an integral part of a multidisciplinary science university that also includes the faculties of Education, Law and Social Sciences, as well as the Arctic Centre. The University of Lapland and Lapland University of Applied Sciences form the Lapland University Consortium.

The faculty offers a range of degree programmes, including art education, graphic design, audiovisual media culture, fashion and textile design and design. Undergraduate, masters, Doctor of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy programmes are available. Instruction is based on research and artistic activity, and the faculty hosts exhibitions in its twelve galleries in Rovaniemi throughout the year.
