Detailed Overview

Under the general supervision of the Coordinator, Pharmacy Services or designate, assists with medication dispensing by measuring, non-sterile compounding, packaging, and distributing medications. Maintains stock levels, and performs clerical duties as assigned. Responsibilities Receives, sorts, counts, measures and fills both patient-specific and non-patient-specific medication containers. Assists in the distribution of patient-specific and non-patient-specific medications to patient care units as directed and maintains appropriate records. Compounds non-sterile pharmaceutical products according to established protocols. Repackages medications into unit-of-use format. Maintains repackaging and compounding records. Maintains appropriate quantities of wardstock medications (manual or automated dispensing cabinet system).
