About the role

The Bench Assistant – Open Cut supports the delivery of bulk explosive services to customers safely and environmentally. Performs loading, tying, and firing blasts under direction of Shotfirer or On Bench Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain safety of self, colleagues, customers, public, and environment.
• Deliver operational services in line with client specifications.
• Report all incidents and accidents immediately.
• Participate in daily Toolbox talks and Monthly Safety Meetings.
• Complete all necessary operational, SHEC, and site‑specific training.
• Maintain personal training records per Orica training Matrix.
• Uphold housekeeping standards.
• Notify site management of any variations in product specification, appearance or performance.
