Medical Imaging Technologists are allied health professionals who perform diagnostic examinations at the request or direction of an Interventional Cardiologist during invasive cardiology, noninvasive cardiology, and/or peripheral vascular study procedures. Through subjective data collection and recording, the Technologist obtains information from which a correct anatomical and physiological diagnosis may be established for each patient.
The Medical Imaging Technologist is actively involved in all phases of the peri-procedural process. S/he manipulates procedural instrumentation under the direct supervision of the Interventional Cardiologist.
