Department Coordinator Functions:

Greets visitors to the department or via telephone, ensuring customer service is a priority and responds/refers visitor to appropriate patient room or department staff member.

Collaboratively works with multidisciplinary team in the coordination of patient care services.

Coordinates all designated aspects of the admission and discharge process which may include but is not limited to pre-registration, demographic and insurance verification, registration functions, assigns correct accommodation codes and discharge disposition.

Ensures that each patient has an order for code status, precautions, isolation, advanced directives and all consults have been added as a care Provider in Sunrise.
