Lab Technician – Calgary

At Interpro Pipe & Steel Inc., we have an immediate opening for a Lab Technician at our Calgary mill. This role is integral to the quality control process, ensuring compliance and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and test samples to evaluate product mechanical properties.
• Prepare and examine samples requiring metallographic evaluation.
• Safely operate laboratory and mechanical testing equipment.
• Perform tensile tests on heat‑treated pipe, as‑welded pipe, and upset tubing.
• Perform hardness tests on as‑welded pipe, quench and temper pipe, and as‑quenched pipe.
• Perform impact tests as required.
• Follow detailed testing procedures and record findings, communicating results with stakeholders.
• Interpret weld quality based on metallographic results and communicate findings to the Mill Line.
