POSITION SUMMARY
The Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist performs specialized diagnostic and therapeutic imaging procedures. The IR Technologist supports physicians during both vascular and non-vascular procedures, ensuring high-quality imaging, patient safety, and compliance with hospital and regulatory standards. This position is non-union.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares and positions patients for interventional radiology procedures, explaining processes to ensure comfort and understanding.
- Operates fluoroscopy and specialized interventional imaging equipment in accordance with physician instructions and hospital protocols.
- Assists physicians during a variety of vascular and non-vascular procedures, including but not limited to:
- Angiography and embolization
- Stent placements
- Biopsies, drainages, and aspirations
- Central line and port placements
