Doctoral Researcher to complete a four‑year dissertation project under joint supervision at the Doctoral School of Industry Innovations, exploring research questions that are directly relevant to industry and business, with a focus on power electronics.
Responsibilities
- Develop control methods for utility‑scale power electronic converters operating as static synchronous compensators (STATCOMs).
- Develop software tools to support design, testing and validation of the proposed control methods.
- Implement the control methods in simulation environments such as Matlab, in hardware‑in‑the‑loop simulators, and on low‑voltage lab prototypes.
- Carry out teaching duties that amount to approximately 5% of annual working hours and participate in DSII events, meetings and training sessions.
