Overview

Maria Montessori Education Centre (MMEC) seeks aCertificated Computer ScienceTeacher to lead our Upper Elementary and Erdkinder (Grades 4–9) Computer Science offering, beginning September 2026. This is a part-time position (0.13 FTE, approximately one afternoon per week plus associated planning and assessment time).

Responsibilities

• Plan, instruct, and assess the Computer Science program across Upper Elementary and Erdkinder classes.
• Deliver Alberta’s curriculum (computational thinking, design processes, coding, and abstraction) within a Montessori learning environment.
• Some classes share common lessons, and the teaching schedule can be arranged within a single afternoon block.

Qualifications

• Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate (required)
• Background or strong interest in Computer Science / computational thinking and coding
