Operations Buyer – Maintenance

Leggett & Platt’s Operations Buyer is accountable to provide support to Operations with issues related to external suppliers and will support the category teams with the implementation of strategy initiatives. The Operations Buyer is also accountable to support operations with indirect procurement needs, which are not covered by regional indirect procurement contracts.

Duties

• Implement regional indirect procurement contracts within the assigned plant and manage all indirect purchases not covered by regional agreements.
• Oversee commercial activities—including negotiation and implementation—related to engineering changes impacting serial production parts after Phase 5 sign‑off.
• Support Category Management in executing Commodity strategies and productivity initiatives.
• Manage supplier performance in coordination with the Commodity Manager, focusing on quality, cost, and delivery.
