General description:

The BOM & Product Configuration Engineer is responsible for ensuring the technical accuracy, consistency, and compliance of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and product configurations throughout the product lifecycle. Acting as the technical liaison between Engineering and Procurement, this role validates BOMs, ensures CAD designs (e.g., Onshape) match purchased parts, supports supplier technical development, and translates engineering requirements into clear specifications for the purchasing team. The role helps prevent rework, sourcing errors, and compliance issues.

Key responsibilities:

• BOM & product data validation: review and standardize purchased item descriptions; verify parts/materials in BOMs against CAD models; resolve discrepancies; maintain part-master data (descriptions, specs, revisions, alternates, codes).
