[What the role is]
The Labelling and Standards Department (LSD) administers the Energy Conservation Act to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions from the industry and household sectors. Its main mission is to promote efficient use of energy and resources in the various sectors such as industrial, households and public sectors in order to contribute to Singapore’s efforts in mitigating climate change.[What you will be working on]
Your key role is to continually improve energy efficiency in the household sector and other sectors through the administration and enforcement of the Mandatory Energy Labelling Scheme (MELS) and Mandatory Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) under the Energy Conservation Act (ECA).
You will be responsible for administering the Mandatory Energy Labelling Scheme (MELS) and Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) for regulated goods:
Evaluate applications for MELS and MEPS from retailers and suppliers
