The Office of the Information Commissioner (OIC) requires an investigator to conduct access to information complaint investigations under the Access to Information Act. The investigator will independently or within an investigative team use the tools, processes, and procedures defined by the Office to conduct a full range of investigations.
Responsibilities include: investigating access to information complaints, and conducting investigations in fields mandated by access to information and privacy legislation (Access to Information Act, Privacy Act, PIPEDA, or equivalent provincial legislation). The investigator will also be able to conduct criminal investigations or audits as required.
